விருது - Viruthu
s. (Tel.) a banner of certain tribes; 2. a trophy, வெற்றிக்கொடி; 3. a badge worn by fencing masters, jugglers etc., அடையாளம்; 4. a vow, an obligation, விரதம்; 5. a branch of a family, stem, pedigree, வமிசம்.
விருது கட்ட, to tie and wear a distinguishing mark. விருதுகாளம், a trumpet. விருதுகொண்டிருக்க, to be under a vow or promise. விருதுக்கொடி, a distinguishing banner of tribes etc.
பதாகை - Pathaagai
s. (also படாகை) an ensign, a banner, விருதுக்கொடி.
பதாகன், poet for பதாகையான், one with a banner, a king, அரசன். உரகபதாகன், Duryodhana whose flag bears the figure of a serpent.
படம் - Padam
