சுமை - Sumai
s. (சும) a burden, a load, பாரம்; 2. bounden duty, கடமை; 3. a measure equal to 6 measures; 4. a bundle of 18 cocoanuts; 5. bundle of 27 கவளி, of betel-leaves.
சுமைகூலி, the hire for carrying a burden. சுமைதலை, see சுமதலை. சுமை தாங்கி, a rest or platform of stone etc. to place burdens upon. சுமையடை, a pad for the head for carrying, சும்மாடு. சுமையாள், சுமைகாரன், a porter, carrier, bearer. சுமையெடுக்க, to carry a load. ஆட்சுமை, a cooly-load.
கடமை - Kadamai
s. duty, முறைமை; 2. tribute, toll, tax, குடியிறை; 3. debt, கடன்; 4. an elk, கடம்பை; 5. a ewe, பெண் ணாடு.
கடமை செலுத்த, to perform duties; to pay tax. கடமையின் குட்டி, the fawn of an elk. கடமைக்கால், authorized measure of capacity.
