அமுக்கு, v. n. compression. அமுக்கன், a very close person. a very reserved character, a cunning fellow. அமுக்கடி, (அமுக்கு+அடி) density in a throng of people; நெருக்கடி. அமுக்கி, nightmare.

III. v. t. (causative of அழுந்து) press, அமுக்கு; 2. make firm, strong, compact, உரமாக்கு; 3. set gems in gold, இழை; 4. be heavy handed in writing; 5. reiterate, insist upon, maintain tenaciously, ஜாதி; 6. shoot, எய்.
எழுத்தாணி அழுத்தாமல் எழுத, to use the iron style lightly in writing. அழுத்திப் பேச, to speak impressively. அழுத்தும் சுமை, a heavy burden.
