நீச்சல் - Neechal
நீச்சு, v. n. (நீஞ்சு) swimming, நீந்துகை; 2. water of swimming depth; 3. (vulg.) a bad smell, fishsmell.
நீச்சடிக்க, to swim. நீச்சுக்காரன், நீச்சாள், a swimmer. நீச்சுநிலை, swimming depth & shallow water. நீச்சுநிலையறிய, to examine the deep & shallow places; i. e. to investigate a business; 2. to examine a position. நீச்சுநிலையறியாதவன், one without discrimination; one who cannot investigate a business or examine a position. நீச்சுப்பழக, to learn to swim. நிச்சுப்பழக்க, to train or teach one to swim. மீன்குட்டிக்கு நீச்சுப் பழக்குவாருண் டோ? does anybody teach young fishes to swim? (said to show that the son follows the steps of the father; that the son intuitively does the trade of the father or exhibits skill in the profession of his father even without training). நீச்சுமேலேவர, to come swimming.
வாரு -
III. v. t. take up by the handful, அள்ளு; 2. sweep off, remove people in great numbers out of the world, திரளாய்க் கொண்டுபோ; 3. carry off, steal, கவரு; 4. gather, சேர்த்துக் கொள்; 5. shave a palmyra leaf for writing; 6. comb the hair, சீவு; 7. cast up, as a wave of the sea, or the current of a river, வரன்று.
பேதி அனேகரை வாரிக் கொண்டு போயிற்று, cholera has taken away many. வாரிப் போட, to throw sand, earth etc.; 2. to take away. வாரியடிக்கிற காற்று, வாரிக்-, a high wind that blows things away, a storm. வாரியிறைக்க, to scatter abroad; 2. to give liberally. வாரிஏறிட, to sweep off from the ground. வாருகோல், a broom.
கொழி -
VI. v. t. separate husk, bran etc. from rice or other grains, புடை; 2. cast sand etc. on shore, ஒதுக்கு; 3. carry away (as a flood) வாரு; 4. polish refine, தெளி; 5. sift, examine critically; 6. proclaim, publish; v. i. sound; 7. rise up to the surface; 8. flourish.
கொழிதமிழ், refined or pure Tamil. கொழிப்பு, v. n. separating husk, bran etc. from rice, beating up sand (as waves), exposing faults. கொழியல், கொழியலரிசி, கொழியலான அரிசி, rice not well beaten and cleansed. ஒரு கொழியல், rice once cleaned of husk etc.
