காப்பு - Kaappu

காப்புக்கட்ட, to tie an amulet round the arm; 2. to engage in any pursuit with zeal. காப்பு நாண், the string which is used for the purpose of tying an amulet. காப்பாற்ற, to defend, protect, preserve, save, தற்காக்க. காப்பிட, to put arm rings to children when five days old. தற்காக்க, see under தற் (தன்).
மூங்கில் - Moongil
மூங்கி, s. a bamboo, a highgrowing thorny reed so called.
மூங்கிலரிசி, its seed freed from the husk. மூங்கிலுப்பு, a medicinal salt found in certain bamboos. மூங்கிற் குத்து, -போத்து, a cluster of bamboos. மூங்கிற் குழல், -குழாய், bamboo tube. மூங்கிற் புதர், a thicket of bamboos. மூங்கிற்றப்பை, மூங்கிடப்பை, a split bamboos. மூங்கில் முத்து, pearls said to be produced from the bamboo. விஷ மூங்கில், வேலி-, see under விஷம்.
வேலி - Veli
s. a hedge, a fence, a wall, மதில்; 2. custody, watch, காவல்; 3. land measure of five காணி or about six acres; 4. an affix to some proper names of villages, ஊர்.
வேலிப் பருத்தி, a medicinal plant, daemia extensa. வேலிக்கு முள்ளிட, to set thorns in a hedge. வேலி மூங்கில், a plant used for hedges, justicia betonica. வேலியடைக்க, -போட, to hedge in, to fence in.
