அறம் -
அறன், s. virtue, ஒழுக்கம்; 2. charity, benefaction, தருமம்; 3. merit புண்ணியம்; 4. letters or words in a verse which cause ruin as in அறம் வைத்துப் பாடுதல்; 5. goddess of virtue; 6. Yama.
அறக்கருணை, ( x மறக்கருணை) benign divine grace ( x grace beslowed through trials). அறச்சாலை, an alm-house. அறஞ்செய்ய, to give alms. அறநெறி, அறத்தாறு, path of virtue (அறத்துறை). அறத்துணைவி, wife as helping the husband in acts of virtue. அறவர், அறவோர், virtuous or charitable men. அறப்பால், அறத்துப்பால், the section of a book treating of virtue. அறப்பரிசாரம், (சிலப்ப.), service rendered to ascetics.
புண்ணியம் -
s. virtue, moral or religious merit, அறம்; 2. purity, holiness, தூய் மை; 3. a good or charitable work, நல்வினை.
புண்ணிய கருமம், a meritorious deed. புண்ணியசாந்து, cow-dung. புண்ணியசாலி, -வான், -வாளன், -ன், -புருஷன், (fem. -வதி, -வாட்டி) a charitable or virtuous person. புண்ணியசுரூபி, -சொரூபி, one remarkable, for virtue (the image of virtue). புண்ணியதிரணம், -திருணம், a sacrificial grass, white Kusa, வெண் தருப்பை. புண்ணியதீர்த்தம், a place for religious bathing, holy water. புண்ணியபூமி, the holy land of the Hindus that part of India bounded on the north by the Himalayas, on the south by the Vindhaya and on the east and the west by the sea. புண்ணியாத்துமா, a virtuous and charitable soul (male or female). புண்ணியோதயம், manifestation of meritorious deeds.
