சுவை - Suvai
s. taste, flavour, relish, உருசி; 2. deliciousness, இன்பம்; 3. the subtle matter from which water is said to have evolved; 4. poetic sentiments.
சுவைகொள்ள, -பட, to taste well. சுவைபார்க்க, to taste; 2. to be nice, particular, dainty in food. சுவையணி, a figure of speech which consists in describing the 8 sentiments. அறுசுவை, the six flavours, viz. கைப்பு, bitterness; இனிப்பு, sweetness; புளிப்பு, sourness; உவர்ப்பு, saltness; துவர்ப்பு, astringency; கார்ப்பு, pungency. உட்சுவை, the flavour of a fruit etc.
