கருகு -
III. v. i. turn black by exposure to the sun, fire, etc., கரி II; 2. be singed, scorched or burnt (as meat, fish etc.) காந்து.
பயிர்கருகுகிறது, the crop is become sickly. கருகவறுக்க, to over-roast. கருகல், v. n. obscurity, dimness, rice, curry etc. burnt in cooking. கருகலான பேச்சு, an obscure dark speech. கருகல் வெற்றிலை, betel leaves tanned by the sun. கருகற்சோறு, burnt rice. கருகற்புண், a healed sore. கருகுமணி, vulg. கருவமணி, a small black bead.
தீய் -
தீ, II. v. i. be slightly scorched or burnt (as food) கருகு; 2. be scorched by the heat of the sun, காய்.
தீயச்சுண்ட, to seethe or boil away. தீய்ந்த சோறு, burnt rice. தீயல், that which is burnt in cooking; thick, dry curry. மனம் (குடல், ஈரல்) தீய, to feel deep grief, pity etc.
பொசுங்கு - pocungku
III. v. i. be singed, toasted, கருகு; 2. burn, consume, be scorched slightly, தீ 3. be reduced in circumstances, நொந்து போ; 4. be united, agree together, பொருந்து.
பொசுங்கல், v. n. & s. anything singed or scorched; 2. one who speaks or act with hesitation. அவர்கள் இருவருக்கும் பொசுங்காது, there is no agreement between them both.
