மானியம் - Maaniyam
s. honour, respect, சங்கை; 2. lands held on free tenure.
மானியக்காரன், one who holds a Manium. அர்த்தமானியம், a field for which half the tax is paid. காணிமானியம், hereditary fields of the inhabitants subject to no tax. குடிமக்கள் மானியம், land in free tenure given to washermen, barbers etc. கோவில் மானியம், free lands belonging to a pagoda. சருவமானியம், a field exempt from all tax.
சாதனம் - Saathanam
s. a bond, an instrument, a deed, சாசனம், which see; 2. means, expedient, method, எத்தனம்; 3. a place, a residence; 4. a city; 5. practice, பயிற்சி.
சாதனக்காணி, hereditary property. சாதன சதுட்டயம், the four requisites necessary in a student before he is launched into Vedantic philosophy. சாதனப்பத்திரம், --முறி, a title-deed. சிலாசாதனம், a deed or instrument cut in stone. மரணசாதனம், will and testament. சாதனாபாசம், fallacy in the premise.
முடி - Mudi
s. a crown, கிரீடம்; 2. a tuft of hair upon the crown of the head, குடுமி; 3. the head, தலை; 4. a bundle of rice plants for transplanting, நாற்றுமுடி; 5. the half of the kernel of a cocoanut; 6. a knot of a string or in a tree, முடிச்சு; 7. end, முடிவு.
முடிக்காணிக்கை, an offering of the hair of the head. முடிசூட, -அணிய, -தரிக்க, to be crowned, to wear a crown. முடிசூட்ட, to crown another. முடிபொறுத்தவன், a king as wearing a crown, a crowned head. முடிபோட, to tie into a knot. அடிமுடி, head & foot.
