காப்பு - Kaappu

காப்புக்கட்ட, to tie an amulet round the arm; 2. to engage in any pursuit with zeal. காப்பு நாண், the string which is used for the purpose of tying an amulet. காப்பாற்ற, to defend, protect, preserve, save, தற்காக்க. காப்பிட, to put arm rings to children when five days old. தற்காக்க, see under தற் (தன்).
இழை - Izhai
s. thread, yarn, நூல்; 2. jewel, ஆபரணம்; 3. (in comp.) a lady bedecked with jewels as நேரிழை, முற் றிழை; 4. string tied round the wrist for a vow, கையிற் கட்டும் காப்பு; 5. one of the 8 ornaments of style.
இழைகுளிர்த்தி, firmness of texture. இழைநெருக்கம், being thickly woven, close-threadedness. இழைவாங்கி, -ஊசி, a darning needle. இழைபிட, -போட, -யோட்ட, to darn, to fine-draw. இழையோட, to measure with a line, to wind thread. நாலிழை நெசவு, cloth of four-twisted threads. மூன்றிழைத் தையல், stitching of three-twisted threads. மயிரிழை, hair-breadth.
காவல் - Kaaval
s. (கா) watch, guard, protection, preservation, keeping, காப்பு; 2. custody, imprisonment, கைது; 3. prison, சிறைச்சாலை; 4. fortification, மதில்; 5. a platform for watching fields, பரண்; 9. coat of mail, கவசம்.
