குடி - Kudi
VI. v. t. drink, பருகு; 2. inhale, உறிஞ்சு; 3. suck, முலையுண்ணு; 4. take medicine, swallow; 5. absorb, imbibe, உட்கொள்; 6. smoke as tobacco.
பூமி மழையைக் குடிக்கிறது, the earth absorbs the rain. நல்லபால் குடித்து வளர்ந்தான், he has been virtuously brought up. குடி, v. n. drunkenness; drinking; 2. s. drink, beverage. குடிகாரன், குடியன், a drunkard. குடித்தல், v. n. drinking. குடிநீர், a medicinal decoction; drinking water. குடிவெறி, intemperance, intoxication. சுருட்டு, (புகை) குடிக்க, to smoke a cigar.
சுடு -

சுடக்குடித்தவன், a hasty man. சுடவைக்க, to set any thing on fire to be heated. சுடச் சுடத்தின்ன, to eat food hot. சுடுகாடு, -வசனம், a burning ground, சுடலை. சுடு நீர், -தண்ணீர், hot-water, வெந்நீர். சுட்டுப்போக, to become. hot.
தம் - tam
oblique of தாம், their (as தம் பொருள், their property); 2. a poetic expletive (used with 3rd person plural), ஓர் சாரியை.
தம்மவன், (தம்+அவன்) a relative. தம்மனை, தம்மை, a mother, தாய். தம்முன், an elder brother. தங்குடிச்சுற்றம், paternal relations, kinsmen. தங்குடித்தமர், paternal relations on whom devolves the duty of performing the funeral rites and protecting the family after the death of the father.
