வாரம் - Vaaram
s. a week or a day of the week, கிழமை; 2. part, portion, பங்கு; 3. rent of land, நிலவாரம்; 4. opportunity, occasion, சமயம்; 5. love, அன்பு; 6. proprietorship, property, உரிமை; 7. a variation in dancing, நடன விகர்ப் பம்; 8. a mountain side, மலைச்சாரல்; 9. sea, கடல்; 1. a wave, அலை; 11. a small divisional ridge in a rice field, சிறு வரம்பு; 12. the verandan of a house, தாழ்வாரம்; 13. bank or shore, கரை. The seven days of the week are: ஆதித்தவாரம், ஆதி, - Sunday; சோம-, monday; மங்கல-, Tuesday; சௌ மிய-, புத-, Wednesday; குரு-, Thursday; சுக்கிர-, Friday; and சனி-, Saturday.
வாரக்குடி, a cultivator of the soil; 2. one who cultivates for rent. வாரத்திட்டம், the regulated shares of the produce of a field between the parties. வாரத்துக்கு வளர்க்க, to rear fowls etc. on shares. வாரத்துக்கு விட, to let out a land for a share of the produce. வாரம்பிரிக்க, to divide the shares of the produce. வாரம் வாரம், வாரா வாரம், weekly. உடைவாரம், the whole of the produce. குடிவாரம், the part of the produce that belongs to the cultivator. மேல்வாரம், the part of the produce that belongs to the landlord.
சஞ்சாயம் - cancayam
s. work done for daily wages; 2. gratuity, இலவசம்; 3. portion of the produce of a field which is assigned (goes) to the cultivator, குடிவாரம்; 4. direct management of lands etc, by the owner himself. (x குத்தகை).
