சொட்டு - Sottu
s. a tap or knock on the head with the hand, குட்டு; 2. a drop, துளி; 3. defect, blemish, சொட்டை; 4. a slice or small piece, துண்டு.
சொட்டுச் சொட்டாயிறங்க, to fall in drops, சொட்டுச் சொட்டென்று ஒழுக. சொட்டுச் சொல், a disparaging word; a stigma, a jest; சொட்டைச் சொல். சொட்டுத் தண்டம், a contribution made reluctantly, through the influence of others. சொட்டு மூத்திரம், strangury in children. கள்ளிச் சொட்டுப்போலே, (said of milk) as thick as that of the prickly pear.

குட்டல், v. n. the act of cuffing. குட்டிக்கொள்ள, to strike the temples with the first as a ceremony in worshipping a deity. குட்டு, v.n. a buffet, cuff, a blow with the first on the head. குட்டுணி, an intractable, shameless person cuffed about by every one; 2. a shameless fellow. குட்டுண்ண, to be buffeted, cuffed.
