சேறு - Seeru
s. mud, mire, அளறு; 2. a liquid of thick consistency; 3. toddy, கள்; 4. sweetness, pleasantness, இனிமை; 5. temple procession, திருவிழா.
சேறாட, to make an irrigated field muddy by trampling, to mash. சேறுகூட்ட, -குழைக்க, to make mud. சேறாடி சேறடி, சேறடை, (prov.) the wings of a carriage to defend from mud, dust etc. சேறுஞ் சுரியும், mud and mire, overboiled rice. சேறுபூச, to plaster a wall with mud. சேற்றுநிலம், muddy ground. சந்தனச்சேறு, sandal paste.
தீர்த்தம் - Thiirththam
s. sacred rivers or waters at a place of pilgrimage; 2. consecrated water, திருமஞ்சனநீர்; 3. water in general, நீர்; 4. ceremonial purity, சுத்தம்; 5. water consecrated for the sick; 6. a temple festival or procession, திருவிழா.
தீர்த்தங்கொடுக்க, to distribute sacred water. தீர்த்தமாட, to bathe in sacred water; 2. to bathe (used by Vaishnavas in this sense.) தீர்த்தயாத்திரை, pilgrimage to bathe in sacred water. தீர்த்தர், (pl.) Devas, Celestials, தேவர். தீர்த்தவாசி, a pilgrim. தீர்த்தன், Argha, அருகன்; 2. Siva, சிவன்; 3. a guru, குரு; 4. a teacher of the vedas, உபாத்தியாயன்.
குருத்து -
s. the young tender leaves of palms, plantain trees etc; 2. that which is tender and white, இளமை, இளசு; 3. whiteness, tenderness; 4. brain matter; 5. the tender part of the internal ear, or the tympanum காதுக்குருத்து.
குருத்திற்கு, down, soft feathers. குருத்துவிட, --வீச, --எறிய; to shoot out fresh and tender leaves. குருத்தோலை, a young tender leaf. குருத்தோலைத் திருவிழா, (R. C.) palm Sunday, Also குருத்தோலைப் பெரு நாள், --ஞாயிறு.
