பிராயச்சித்தம் - Piraayassiththam
(பிரார்ச்சித்தம்), s. expiation, penance, தவம்; 2. punishment for a crime committed, தண்டனை; 3. remedy, counteraction, removal, பரி காரம்; 4. atonement, satisfaction for sin, பாவநிவிர்த்தி.
பிராயச்சித்தம் பண்ண, to atone, to make satisfaction by penance, gifts etc.
கட்டம் - Kattam
கஷ்டம், s. hardship hard work, பாடு; 2. human excrement, dung of dogs etc, மலம்.
கஷ்ட காலம், hard times. கஷ்டப்பட, to work hard; to toil. கஷ்ட நிவாரணம், --நிவர்த்தி, relief, alleviation of suffering. கஷ்டார்ச்சிதம், property obtained by hard toil.

(with fut. part.) as soon as. இவளைக்காட்டிலும் அவள் அழகி, she is more beautiful than this woman. நீ போங்காட்டிலும் பணம் கொடுப்பான், he will give the money the moment you go there. காட்டு, v. n. showing, exhibition, example, evidence. சொல்லிக்காட்ட, to explain, relate. சத்தங்காட்ட, to cry, to cry aloud. தண்ணீர்காட்ட, to water the sheep, horse etc. தூபங்காட்ட, to burn incense. தெரியக்காட்ட, to show plainly, to demonstrate. புகைகாட்ட, to smoke anything (as plantains to ripen them) வழிகாட்டி, a guide.
