மானியம் - Maaniyam
s. honour, respect, சங்கை; 2. lands held on free tenure.
மானியக்காரன், one who holds a Manium. அர்த்தமானியம், a field for which half the tax is paid. காணிமானியம், hereditary fields of the inhabitants subject to no tax. குடிமக்கள் மானியம், land in free tenure given to washermen, barbers etc. கோவில் மானியம், free lands belonging to a pagoda. சருவமானியம், a field exempt from all tax.
குற்றம் - Kuttram
s. fault, பிழை; 2. guilt, crime, தீங்கு; 3. stigma, பழி; 4. bodily deformity, அங்கக்குறை; 5. penalty, fine, அபராதம்.
குற்றங்காண, to find fault, to pick holes. குற்றங்குறைகள், grievances. குற்றச்சாட்டு, --ச்சாட்டம், accusation. குற்றஞ்சாட்ட, --சுமத்த, to accuse; to incriminate. குற்றஞ் சுமக்க, to be guilty. அவன்மேல் குற்றஞ் சுமந்தது, he has been found guilty. குற்றத்தை மறைக்க, to deny the crime, to hide a fault. குற்றமின்மை, --மில்லாமை, innocence. குற்றம் செய்ய, --பண்ண, to commit a fault or crime. குற்றம்பார்க்க, --பிடிக்க, to find fault. குற்றவாளி, an offender, one who is found guilty, a malefactor, a criminal.
ஓமம் - Oomam
ஹோமம், s. burnt offering, casting of ghee, grain etc. into the sacred fire; 2. sacrifice, வேள்வி.
ஓமகுண்டம், a hole made in the ground for sacrificial fire. ஓமத்திரவியம், requisites for a sacrifice. ஓமம்பண்ண, --செய்ய, to perform a burnt sacrifice. ஓமம்வளர்க்க, to kindle and feed the sacrificial fire. ஓமாக்கினி, sacrificial fire.
