தட்டாயிருக்க, to be in straits. தட்டுக்காரன், an evader, a rogue, a cunning fellow. தட்டுக்கெட, -கெட்டுப்போக, to be greatly alarmed or perplexed; 2. to be in destitution; 3. to suffer loss. தட்டுக்கெட்ட சமாசாரம், a complicated business. தட்டுக்கேடு, extremity, want; 2. loss; 3. perplexity; 4. defeat, ruin. தட்டுக்கொட்டு, mere exterior show; 2. a bauble, gew.gaw; 3. living by stratagem etc. தட்டுண்டு போக, to be beaten off or scattered, to be frustrated, to fail. தட்டுப்பட, to be hit, to struck; 2. to lack. to be wanting (as money). தட்டுமாறி, a swindler, a deceiver.

அன்னமுட்டினால் எல்லாம் முட்டும், if rice is deficient, everything is wanting. முட்டம், (neg. 1st pers. pl.) we shall not want. முட்டிற்று, முட்டிப்போயிற்று, all the necessaries are wanting. முட்டிக்கொள்ள, to hit the head against something. முட்டுதல், v. n. butting want. முட்டுதலாயிருக்க, to be in great want. முட்டை, you will not want.
