கோட்டை - Kottai
s. a fort, a fortified town, a castle, அரண்; 2. a ring appearing round the sun or the moon, halo, பரிவேடம்; 3 the wards of a lock; 4. the interior of a house.
கோட்டை அரணிப்பு, the fortification, bastions. கோட்டைக்காரன், the commander of a fort, the owner of a fort. கோட்டை பிடிக்க, to accomplish a great task (lit. to capture a fort). கோட்டையகழ், a ditch round a fort. கோட்டைவாசல், fort-gate. உட்கோட்டை, the inner castle or citadel. ஆகாசக்கோட்டை கட்ட, to build castles in the air.
கரவடம் -
s. fraud, deceit, வஞ்சனை; 2. theft, களவு.
கரவடக்காரன், a crafty person, hypocrite. கரவடவேடம், hypocrisy. கரவடவேலை, deceptive work, counterfeitness. கழுத்திற்றாவடம் நெஞ்சிற் கரவடம், (lit.) a string of beads on the neck but hypocrisy in the mind; feigned religious appearance with a view to dupe people. கரவடர், deceivers, thieves.
தபசு - tapacu
தவ்வசு, தபம், தவம், s. self-mortification, an austere life; 2. penitence, penance.
தவசுபண்ண, to do penance, to lead an austere life. தபசி, தவசி, தவத்தி, தபோதனன், தவத்தோன், a devotee, an ascetic. தபவேடம், the garb or costume of an ascetic. தபாக்கினி, the fervour of devotion, fires kindled for self-mortification. தபோபலம், supernatural power obtained by abstract devotion. தபோபுண்ணியம், merit acquired by austerities. தபோவனம், a sacred forest frequented by ascetics. செபதபம், prayerful penance.
