இறங்கு - Irangu
III. v. i. descend, come down, flow down, drop down, தாழச்செல்லு; 2. disembark, கறையிறங்கு; 3. alight from a horse; 4. take up a lodging, halt, தங்கு; 5. abate, become reduced, தாழ்வடை; 6. fall from a higher state, நிலைகுலை.
இறக்கம், v. n. descending, a declivity; a descent; a ford. மழை இறக்கம், a shower of rain. நோயாளிக்குச் சோற்றிறக்கமில்லை, the patient has no appetite, he is unable to swallow food. இறங்கல், v. n. descending, dismounting, getting down a tree etc. இறங்காத்துறை, a place not convenient for landing; an improper marriage etc. இறங்குதுறை, a ford, a place of landing. இறங்குபொழுது, time of sun-set. ஏற இறங்கப்பார்த்தல், looking at one from foot to head and vice versa in anger and reproof.
தேட்டம் -
தேட்டு, தேட்டை, v. n. seeking, search, ஆராய்வு; 2. longing, வாஞ்சை; 3. acquisition, சம்பாத்தியம்.
தேட்டாண்மை, தேட்டாமை, great industry, thriftiness. தேட்டாளன், தேட்டாமையுள்ளவன், an industrious thriving person, தேட் டக்காரன். அவனுக்குச் சோற்றில் தேட்டமில்லை, he has no appetite for rice.
சோறு -
s. boiled rice,
சாதம்; 2. the spongy substance or pith of trees,
சோற்றி; 3. the 2nd lunar asterism,
பரணி.
சௌ சௌகதன் s. a Buddist, புத்தன்.
அவனுக்குச் சோற்றிரக்கமில்லை, rice will not go down i. e. he cannot eat. சோறாக்க, -சமைக்க, to boil rice. சோறிட, to set rice before one; 2. to board, feed. சோறு கொல்லி, a glutton; 2. green vitriol, அன்னபேதி. சோறுபோட, -படைக்க, to serve up rice at meals. சோற்றுக் கடன், obligation or service in return for food given. சோற்றுக் கத்தளை, a kind of fish. சோற்றுக் களை, languor after eating. சோற்றுக் கத்தாழை, a kind of aloe containing a fleshy substance resembling boiled rice. சோற்றுக்கை, the right hand used in eating rice. சோற்றுத் துருத்தி, the body lit. a leather bag of rice. சோற்றுப் பருக்கை, grain of boiled rice. சோற்றுப் பற்று, rice sticking to the pot. சோற்றுப் பாளையம், the part of the camp where the baggage is kept and where food is prepared by women; 2. (fig.) women. சோற்று மயக்கம், -உறக்கம், sleep induced by eating. சோற்று மரம், a tree not mature.
