இரண்டு - Irandu
(ரண்டு coll.) s. & adj. two. As an adj. pref. it often becomes, இரு before consonants or ஈர் before vowels which see separately, (s.); a few, சில; 2. the letter உ; 3. excrement and urine, மலஜலம்.
இரண்டில் ஒன்று எடு, take either of the two. இரண்டாந்தரம், secondary kind or class; 2. the second time. இரண்டாம் பக்ஷமாயிருக்க, to be not the chief thing or aim; to be of a doubtful nature. இரண்டாம் பாட்டன், a great grandfather. இரண்டாவது, secondly; that which is the second. இரண்டுக்குப் போக, --இருக்க, to defecate, மலங்கழிக்க. இரண்டுக்கும் உண்டு, the issue is doubtful, the thing is critical. இரண்டுங்கெட்டவன், (-கெட்டான் coll.) an indifferent man neither good nor bad; one who cannot distinguish good from evil; one with illbalanced judgment; 2. a destitute, out-caste fellow. இரண்டு செய்ய, to disobey, to act against orders; 2. to act perfidiously. இரண்டு சொல்ல, to refuse, to give an evasive answer. இரண்டு நினைக்க, to be hypocritical; to meditate treachery under a shadow of honesty. இரண்டுபட, to disagree. to become disunited, to become divided in two. இவ்விரண்டு (இரவ்வெண்டு coll.), two by two; in twos.
தானியம் - Thaaniyam
s. corn, grain of all kinds.
தானியங்கட்டிவைக்க, to keep back grain to monopolize grain. தானியதவசம், - சம்பத்து, stores of grain. தானியப்பொட்டு, blighted grain, husk. தானியமணி, a single grain. தானியலட்சுமி, தான்யலக்ஷ்மி, Lakshmi, the godess of grain. தானியாதிபன், தானியாதிபதி, (astrol.) the planet that rules over grain for the year. நவதானியம், the nine kinds of grain proper to be presented with burnt offerings, oblations to the gods or to the nine planets one to each. They are கோதுமை, wheat, offered to the Sun; 2. நெல், paddy to the Moon; 3. துவரை, red gram to the Mars; 4. பயறு, pulse to Mercury; 5. கடலை, Bengal grain to Jupiter; 6. அவரை, beans to Venus; 7. எள், sesamum to Saturn; 8. உளுந்து, black grain to Rahu & 9. கொள், gram to Kethu.

அலக்ஷியம், s. (அ, priv.) contempt, கனவீனம்; indifference
