யானை - Yaanai
s. an elephant, see ஆனை.
யானை யுண் குருகு, a fabled carnivorous bird said to devour the elephant - the ruddy goose. யானை யுரித்தோன், Siva as having skinned, கஜாமுகாசுரன். யானை விச்சுளி, a kind of eagle, the osprey, ஓர் கழுகு. யானை வீரிடல், the trumpeting of an elephant.
தாரா -
s. duck, வாத்து; 2. a heron, குருகு; 3. neg. verb, they do not give; 4. neg. participle, not giving (as in தாராக் கொற்றன், Kottan who does not give) பெயரெச்சம்; 5. a neg. verbal participle as in தாராவொழிந்தான், he passed off giving nothing, வினையெச்சம்.
குருகு - kuruku
s. that which is tender, young, இளமை; 2. a young bird, a water bird, a heron, நாரை; 3. whiteness, வெண் மை; 4. the bird, அன்றில்; 5. the 9th lunar asterism, மூலம்; 6. குருக்கத்தி which see.
குருகுமணல், fine, white sand. குருக்கு, a plantation of young palmtrees. பனங்குருக்கு, a spot of ground full of young palmyra trees.
