நிலை - Nilai

நில்;
2. be permanent, fixed or durable, persevere, நிலைநில்; 3. be fordable; 4. stay too long in a place; 5. be stunted as plants; v. t. set up, erect, நிலைப்படுத்து.
தண்ணீர் ஆளுக்கு நிலைக்கும், (நிலையாது) the water is fordable (not fordable). நிலைத்துப்போக, to come to a stand, to be fixed. நிலைப்பு, v. n. a ford in a river; 2. permanence, durability, perseverance. நிலையாமை, unsteadiness.

III. v. i. diminish, shrink, சுருங்கு; 2. stay, lodge, தங்கு; 3. be destroyed அழி; 4. be permanent, நிலைத்திரு; v. t. reach, சேரு.
அல்கல் v. n. diminution; 2. staying; 3. poverty. அல்குனர் inhabitants.
