இரக்கம் - Irakkam
s. (இரங்கு) mercy, compassion, கிருபை; 2. pity, sympathy, உருக்கம்; 3. distress, grief, துக்கம்.
இரக்கமில்லாதவன், an unmerciful man; a pitiless man. ஈவிரக்கமின்றி, mercilessly. இரக்கமுள்ளவன், இரக்கசாலி, இரக்க வாளி, இரக்கவான், a tender-hearted person. இரக்கம் செய்ய, --காட்ட, to show mercy.
வருவி - Varuvi
VI. v. t. cause to come, வரச் செய்; 2. (in gram.) supply an omission.
எனக்குத் துக்கம் வருவித்தாய், you have caused grief to me.
இழவு - Izhavu
s. loss, இழத்தல்; 2. death, சாவு; 3. mourning for the dead, துக்கம்; 4. destitution, வறுமை; 5. trouble, worry, உபத்திரவம்.
அவன் வீட்டில் இழவுவிழ, --எடுக்க, -- புறப்பட, may death befall his house, (used as in imprecation). இழவுகாண, to pay a visit of condolence. இழவுகாரன், இழவுக்குரியவன், the chief mourner at the funeral. இழவு கொடுக்க, to mourn at a funeral, to bewail the dead; to tease or vex one. இழவு கொண்டாட, to mourn for the dead, to condole with. இழவு செலவு, funeral expenses. இழவு சொல்ல, to notify concerning a funeral. இழவு வீடு, the house where a death has taken place. இழவோலை, a funeral notice, obituary letter.
