தாமசம் - tamacam
தாமதம், s. sluggishness, சோம்பல்; 2. dilatoriness, delay, slowness, மந்தகுணம்; 3. one of the three qualities or principles in nature - that of darkness, ignorance, delusion, sluggishness, முக்குணத்தொன்று.
தாமசசிருட்டி, the creation of evil or powers of evil. தாமசபதார்த்தம், such a kind of food and drink which generate, தாமச குணம், (ex. meat & drink.) தாமசப்பட, to be delayed or to linger. தாமதம்பண்ண, to delay, to detain, to prolong, to retard. தாமதவேளை, (astrol.) the part of the day - the day being in three partswhich is most unfavourable for enterprise. தாமசன், தாமதக்காரன், தாமதமுள்ள வன், a lingerer, a delayer.
