அற்பம் - Arpam
s. (அல்பம்) smallness, சிறுமை; 2. a trifle inferiority, இழிவு; 3. dog, நாய்.
அற்பக்காரியம், a small insignificant matter, a trifle. அற்பசங்கை, அற்பாசமனம், passing urine. அற்பசொற்பம், insignificant thing (colloq.) அற்பாயுசு, short life. அற்பப் புத்தி, little sense, folly, mean disposition. அற்பமாய் எண்ண, to despise, slight. அற்பழுக்கில்லாத மனசு, a heart void of guile. அற்பன், a mean worthless man. "அற்பனுக்குப் பவிஷு வந்தால் அர்த்த ராத்திரியில் குடை பிடிப்பான்" Proverb. "The higher the ape goes, the more he shows his tail."
எலும்பு - Elumbu
s. a bone.
எலும்புக் கூடு, a skeleton. எலும்பன், (fem. எலும்பி) an emaciated person; one who is almost a skeleton. எலும்புருக்கி, a disease which emaciates the system; consumption. காலெலும்பு, the shin bone. துடையெலும்பு, the shank bone. நெஞ்செலும்பு, மார்பெலும்பு, the sternum. பழு, (விலா) எலும்பு, the rib-bones. முதுகுத் தண்டெலும்பு, நடுவெலும்பு. the spine, the ridge bone of the back; the back bone. எலும்புச் சத்து, phosphoric acid prepared out of bones. எலும்பிலி, worm or any creature having no bones.
பழுப்பு - Pazhuppu
s. yellow orpiment, அரிதாரம்; 2. a leaf yellow by age; 3. v. n. of பழு.
பழுப்பானது, பழுப்புண்டானது, பழுப் படைந்தது, that which is withering or fading.
