சுழி - Suzhi
s. whirl,
நீர்ச்சுழல்; 2. a circlet, a curl in the formation of letters, as in
ண,
ன, etc; 3. a curl in hair,
மயிர்ச் சுருள்; 4. circles on the surface of water
(as by the fall of a stone); 5. curved lines on the head or body; 6.
fate, விதி; 7. the sea, கடல்; 8. crown of the head, உச்சி; 9. an inch, a unit of rainfall.
சுழிக்குணம், -த்தனம், knavery. சுழி சுத்தம் பார்க்க, to examine a horse with reference to the curl of the hair on the forehead. சுழிமாந்தம், a distortion of the bowels. சுழிமின்னல், forked lightning. சுழியன், a knave, a rogue, a whirlwind; an intelligent person. சித்திரைச் சுழியன், a storm in the month of April. சுழியாணி, the lower pin of a door or gate. சுழிபோட, to dive into water. தொப்புட்சுழி, Involution of the navel. நீர்ச்சுழி, whirlpool. பிள்ளையார்சுழி, the mark (உ) used by the Hindus in the beginning of a letter or a book.
