கவி - Kavi
II. v. t. cover or overspread (as a cloud or a tree), மூடு; 2. surround, invest, வளை; v. i. bend in or over, வளை; 2. be intent upon a business, be eager, விருப்பமாயிரு.
மேகங்கள் மலைச்சிகரத்தைக் கவிந்து கொண்டன, the clouds have covered the peak of the hill. கூரை கவிவாய் இருக்கிறது, the roof is too much depressed. கவிந்து, (கவிஞ்சு) கேட்க, to bid eagerly for a thing. கவிதல், கவிவு, கவிகை, v. n. bending, being concave. கவிகை, s. liberality; an umbrella; good and evil.
பனி - Pani
s. dew, fog, mist; 2. coldness, குளிர்; 3. fear, reverence, அச்சம்; 4. distress, sorrow, துன்பம்; 5. anything gratifying or soothing, குளிர்ச்சி; 6. quaking, trembling. நடுக்கம்.
பனிக் கட்டி, hard frost, உறைந்த பனி; 2. snow, உறைந்த மழை; 3. ice, உறைந்த நீர். பனிக் காடு, thick fog. பனிக் காலம், --ப்பருவம், the dewy season. பனிக்காற்று, wind in the dewy season. பனி (பன்னீர்) ககுடம், uterus. பனிநீர், see பன்னீர். பனிப்பகை, the sun as the foe of dew or fog. பனிப் பருவம், the dewy season. பனி பெய்கிறது, it dews. பனிமலை, the Himalaya range of mountains, as covered with snow. பனிமூட, to overspread as fog. பனி மேகம், a light cloud in the dewy season, not portending rain. பனி மொழி, soothing words. மூடு பனி, a mist fog.
